Now it's time to keep those New Year's resolutions

Posted: Updated:

Many across the Tri-State have made their New Year's resolutions. Now it's time to keep them.

14 News went to Fitness 19 at Weinbach and the Lloyd Expressway on Wednesday where some have already begun working on their New Year's resolutions to become more fit in the new year.

It may be the most popular of resolutions- to lose weight or get in better shape.

Owner Richard Reisz says he was signing up about 30 people a day last week, way above average.

He gives some advice to resolution makers. He says plan a healthy diet and plan workouts you can stick to. Reisz also says find a workout buddy who can help keep you motivated.

"First of all, you've got to make your A1 commitment. You've got to say, 'This is the year I'm going to get fit. Stick with your resolution. Find a health club that's affordable for your price. Join that health club and make it a routine to go in every single day," Reisz says.

Fitness 19 is a budget gym at $12 a month, but Reisz says it's important to find the right gym to meet your goals.

Some gyms may offer specials for those signing up near the first of the year, like the YMCA in Owensboro.
