Police said a man intentionally drove his car into the house during a domestic dispute.
Demone Seewright, 36, was arrested at the scene and charged with wanton endangerment.
Ed Brown lives in the neighborhood and called police because he was worried about the kids who live in the house.
Police said this window of the house was broken earlier in the day during a previous domestic disturbance.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – It was a dramatic scene in east Louisville after a man drove a car into a house intentionally on New Year's Day.
It happened just before 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 4300 block of Yager Court off Shenandoah Drive near Ballardsville Road and the Gene Snyder Freeway.
"The guy got in the car backed up in the driveway, backed up into the street and then floored it forward and slammed into the house," said Ed Brown, neighbor.
Police say Demone Seewright, 36, plowed his car into his child's mother's rented home causing significant damage. Neighbors couldn't help but stare in awe of how this could happen.
Police say he was dropping off their child when it all started. Other adults were around, too also involved in a fight that turned physical.
Brown lives five doors down. "Just chaos, I mean you could hear the screaming like it was right next to me," said Brown.
Once he saw what happened he called police.
"Everybody was outside," said Brown. "I know they have kids, I was worried about the kids that's why I called 911 immediately."
Fortunately no one was inside the home at the time. Seewright remained at the house and was arrested a short time later. Brown says this isn't the first time officers have been called to that house, but he hopes it is the last.
No one was injured during the incident.
Seewright is charged with 3 counts of wanton endangerment, criminal mischief and having a suspended license and no insurance.
