Two people are hurt after a tractor-trailer slammed into a Sullivan County, Indiana restaurant Tuesday morning.

Indiana State Police troopers say the tractor was pulling an empty coal-hauling trailer eastbound on State Route 54 and turned south on State Route 159.

Troopers say the tractor-trailer traveled approximately 100 feet south and suddenly veered to the right, striking the Coal Miner Cafe in the town of Dugger.

The driver, 63-year-old Gary Nash of Sullivan, was taken to Sullivan County Community Hospital for further investigation into the possibility that a medical episode may have contributed to the crash.

No citations were issued, and investigators say drugs and/or alcohol were not a factor.

The driver is identified as 63-year-old Gary Nash of Sullivan.  Ajax Trucking from Sullivan.

The two injured cafe patrons, 81-year-old Madge Booker of Sullivan, and 66-year-old Gloria Bixler of Dugger, were both treated for complaints of pain at the Sullivan County Community Hospital.
