Man killed in Hopkins Co. logging accident identified

HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) -

The Hopkins County Coroner has released the identity of the man killed in a logging accident on Monday afternoon.

The coroner tells 14 News 21-year-old James Isaac Shoulders, of Dixon, KY, was working on Dame Road, north of Hanson, around 3:00 p.m.

We're told Shoulders was sawing a tree and it kicked back, then fell on him. The coroner said he died from multiple blunt force trauma at the scene.

Shoulders was working for a company that was clearing land along the Pennyrile Parkway.

His family released this statement, "Our family is grief stricken.  The sudden loss of Isaac still feels like a horrible nightmare.  We would like to thank our friends, family, and the community for the outpouring of support being shown to us.  We would also like to thank the first responders to the incident and let them know that they are in our thoughts."
