Despite stolen jar, donations for Henderson cancer patient coming in

Posted: Updated:

A donation jar for a man with terminal cancer was stolen from a Henderson bakery a few weeks ago. Since then, hundreds of dollars have been raised for J Husk.

Employees at Golden Glaze Bakery say people from all over the Tri-State have come out and donated for J. They say they've raised around $600.

Police are still looking for the man in a purple and yellow coat that security footage shows taking the donation jar earlier this month. They say he stole about $30.

Employees at the bakery say despite the jar being stolen, they have a lot of great customers come in and donate.

"We were really excited just to help them raise some more money for the things they need. Everybody came in and supported him and it was just really great," said Jonelle Lawrence, with the bakery.

Golden Glaze Bakery is still accepting donations for J and his family. You can donate at their location on Washington Street in Henderson.
