Future plans for Gabe's Tower announced

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

An announcement was made this morning in Owensboro concerning plans for Gabe's Tower.

As we first told you last week,  the Professional Hospitality Services plan to spend around $6 million transforming the building back into a 105 room hotel.

According to Owensboro Mayor, Ron Payne, the group was excited about the city's revitalization projects and wanted to be a part of it.

Professional Hospitality Services says they are planning on nine months for construction.  Everything will be gutted from top to bottom, with new electrical and plumbing installed.

A steakhouse will open on the building's 12th floor.

Officials say the hotel's name will be announced in the spring.

Owensboro mayor, Ron Payne, says the city will be coming up with a plan for the neighborhood which surrounds Gabe's Tower.
