The EVSC Board met on Monday night to decide who will become the newest board member.
The board has chosen Andrew Guarino to fill the seat of Board President Sally Becker. Guarino will serve the rest of Becker's term, which is one year.
Earlier, the board members met in executive session to discuss six candidates for the position. All six of those candidates were questioned by the board during its meeting last week.
Guarino is a retired school administrator, who has served as assistant principal, principal, special education coordinator, and coordinator of student proceedings in the EVSC, as well as positions in Warrick County.
He holds a B.S. degree in education, majoring in PE and health from Ball State University; an M.S. degree in adult and community education from Ball State; and an M.A. degree for an all-area major in special education from the University of Evansville.
Becker resigned so she can move closer to her family.
