Hundreds without power overnight in Evansville

A blown fuse is to blame for hundreds of Vectren customers being without power in Evansville overnight.

It started around 1:00 a.m. Monday.

The area was mainly the southeast side.

The utility's website reported 1,060 without electricity at the height of the outage.

According to Vectren's Twitter feed, crews worked on a damaged pole near Indian Woods Apartments.

A burnt cable damaged a cross arm. 

Workers installed a new cross arm on the pole and reset wires.

All those affected had power restored by 4:30 a.m.

Pennyrile Electric is also experiencing some outages.

According to its Facebook page, in the Elkton District: Highway 181 South of Greenville has 126 without power.

Highway 171 has 55 customers in the dark.

Crawford Road has 10 customers without electricity.
