School closings

Many area school systems have turned this Monday into a four day weekend for their students and teachers.  Slick conditions especially on many side streets are the main issue this morning.  There was a threat of freezing fog, but that appears to have ended.

Road conditions

While the main roads and highways are in much better shape this morning, there are plenty of slick spots.  We will have live team coverage again this morning on Sunrise to document the morning commute all over the tri-state.

There was a winter weather advisory that expired at 3:00 this morning. Byron says temps have climbed into the lower 30's  which cut back on the freezing fog. Scattered freezing drizzle and fog will be the main hazards, and a light coating of ice will be possible.  Skies becoming partly sunny with high temps in the lower 30s this afternoon. Byron has the complete 14 First Alert forecast.
