With the state of emergency being lifted, the Henderson Police Department is reminding drivers that the roadways are still slick due to the ice and snow.
Officers say drivers are urged to increase their following distance between vehicles, increase the distance normally needed when slowing down to stop, accelerate and decelerate slowly to maintain traction, and avoid stopping on inclines when possible.
Officials in all areas are asking everyone to please use caution when driving and allow extra travel time to your destination.
They also say to dress appropriately for being out in the elements in case of an emergency.
Henderson Police say that from noon on Friday until noon on Saturday, there have been a total of 14 traffic accidents city and county wide. Officers have also assisted on numerous slide-offs and helped motorists whose vehicles became stuck on the roadways.
Officers tell 14 News that Henderson residents did an outstanding job of heeding the warnings and staying off of the roadways.
