Five other contestants also continue to ring Wednesday morning. Three are in California, one in Minnesota and one in Montana.
As Thompson approaches the 24-hour mark he says he is feeling good.
"I love this! My body is really holding up well. I think the record is mine. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! In the end it's mind over matter," says Thompson.
As the contest continues, East Texans are encouraged to make donations to the kettle or online at www.onlineredkettle.org/exalt. Those interested in volunteering to help supervise the event may contact Chantel Millin at 903-283-8626.
