Traffic stop results in man arrested on drug charges

VINCENNES, IN (WFIE) -

A Vincennes man has been arrested after troopers found he was driving under the influence of marijuana. 

Indiana State Police say that on Monday afternoon around 4:30 p.m., a trooper stopped the 22-year-old Steven T. Richardville for failing to indicate a turn at 19th and Hart Street and for driving down the middle of Bayou Street north of 12th Street in Vincennes.

During the traffic stop, troopers say they detected signs of impairment. A search revealed a small amount of marijuana and a smoking pipe in Richardville's pants pocket.

State police say Richardville was also under the influence of marijuana. He was arrested and charges with Driving While Intoxicated (Marijuana), Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He taken to the Knox County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.
