A Greenville man is in jail accused of stabbing his estranged wife in the neck.
Sheriff's deputies say Jeff Warner was awarded custody of their children in a court hearing Monday morning.
Authorities say he left with the kids and their mother followed. Deputies say both pulled over on the side of the road and the kids ran to the mother's car.
After an argument, deputies say Warner stabbed her in the neck.
A passerby with a concealed weapon was able to stop Warner and hold him until authorities arrived.
"He got out of the vehicle and the wife and kids were running down the street trying to get away from him. Several witnesses said that he was chasing her with a knife saying that he was going to kill her," said Wes Miller with Greenville police.
Authorities tell us that Tina has been transported to another hospital, but her condition is unknown at this time.
Warner is in the Muhlenberg County Jail charged with first degree assault, domestic violence
