Warrick Co. Animal Control sees record number of animals

The Warrick County Animal Control says they've rescued a record number of animals.

That number of cats and dogs is nearing 1,000, the highest population ever for the animal control.

There are a number of factors that could be leading to the increase. One is the growth of the community.

Danielle Barnes with Warrick Animal Control tells 14 News that it's still a problem that needs to be fixed.

"I can't believe it's lack of education because we're out there educating and putting more spayed and neutered animals out there in the community, not the reverse, but apparently reached a lot of people," Barnes said.

Barnes says right now you can adopt an animal at the shelter for as little as $10.
