Tri-state may luck out
A light mix of sleet and snow will move through the area early this morning. While accumulations will be minimal, the mix may coat elevated roads and untreated roads to create scattered hazardous driving conditions Skies will clear on Tuesday night and we will have partly sunny and dry conditions for the rest of the week.
If we do get any frozen precipitation, we'll be tracking it for you. Nicole will be out in Live Drive checking on Evansville roads. Emily is live in Owensboro to see how things are shaping up there, and we'll also employ our network of Skyvision HD cameras around the area to see what's happening.
Holiday travel impact
Thanks to temperatures just above freezing, the winter storm heading east could have been worse in parts of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas, but it could get worse today as it sweeps toward the East Coast. Forecasters say the storm could ramp back up, threatening holiday travel plans. Winter storm warnings are up for parts of the eastern half of the U.S.
Evansville police are investigating what they are calling a case of arson at home on West Delaware St. They say gasoline was used to start the fire at the vacant house overnight.
We'll get you caught up on the rest of the news as well. Erin Meyer is live in the interactive center with any late breaking information.
So stay safe and warm and we'll see you on Sunrise.
