Evansville Western Railway crews work hours after a train derailed in White County, Illinois.
It happened around 4:30 Monday afternoon just south of Carmi.
Crews remained on scene until early Tuesday morning.
An official with the Evansville Western Railways tells 14 News the train was headed east towards Mount Vernon, IN from McLeansboro, IL when nine cars jumped off the track.
He says the train was going 10 miles per hour and each car was carrying 115 tons of coal.
Luckily there were no injuries reported.
The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.
Workers hope to have the track cleared sometime Tuesday.
