Authorities are investigating an accident in Dubois County where a man was found in a field, yards away from the accident scene.
The Dubois County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident on State Road 162, just north of the 4-H Fairgrounds. When deputies arrived, they found that 36-year-old Lester Thimling had left the vehicle and climbed up an embankment, about a 100 yards from the accident site.
The sheriff's office says Thimling told deputies that there was no one else in the vehicle, but he was not the driver. When authorities asked him how much he had to drink, Thimling responded with, "Not enough."
Deputies say he refused sobriety tests. Thimling was booked into the Dubois County Jail and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and obstruction of justice.
