Christmas comes to Reitz Home, tours start this weekend

Posted: Updated:

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Reitz Home.

Tours of the newly decorated house begin this Sunday, November 17th.

Executive Director of the Reitz Home, Matthew Rowe, says they are expecting a crowd starting at 1:00 PM.

They will have a hot chocolate and cookie bar set out, and Santa Claus will be at the home starting at 2:00 PM. Parents are welcome to take pictures.

The museum has 18 rooms, all of which have been decorated in a unique way.

Rowe says a third of their annual attendance will walk through the halls of the historic property within the next few weeks- that's as many as 2,000 people.

Tours start Sunday, November 17th and run through December 31.

You can come in Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM, or on Sundays from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM.

However, the last tour always starts at 2:30 PM.

They also have two candlelight tours this year.

Those are on Friday December 6th and Friday December 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Admission is $7.50 for adults, $2.50 for students, kids 12 and under are $1.50.
