"Lights of Love" Gala benefits Ronald McDonald House

Posted: Updated:

The Ronald McDonald House in Evansville will welcome the holiday season with its second annual "Lights of Love" Gala Friday night.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ohio Valley Lights of Love Gala is being held at the Old Courthouse in downtown Evansville, beginning at 6 p.m.  It features a live band, holiday cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, as well as a silent auction.

As guests purchase items, a Christmas tree will go from "bare to bedazzled," the organization says.

All proceeds from the event will help provide a temporary home at the Ronald McDonald House for parents and families of critically ill children.

To buy tickets or learn more about sponsorship opportunities, call the Ronald McDonald House at (812) 402-7642 or visit http://rmhevansville.org/lights-love-gala/.

Over the course of a year, the Ronald McDonald House says it serves an average of 1,000 kids, parents and extended family members.  Evansville's Ronald McDonald House opened in January 2010.
