Deputies: Five juveniles facing charges after starting fire, vandalizing park

The Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Office says they have made several arrested in connection to vandalism at a park.

The Sheriff's Office says on Saturday deputies responded to a call concerning vandalism at Beechmont Park.

It had been reported that the concession stand had been broken into and set on fire and bench seating in the park had been uprooted and turned over.

Sunday afternoon, the Sheriff's Office says they received a tip about a juvenile that was possibly connected to the crime.

An investigation produced charges against five different juveniles.

Three of those charged were charged with First Degree Criminal Mischief (a Class D Felony.) Two others were charged with Second Degree Criminal Mischief (a Class A Misdemeanor).

Three of the juveniles were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center in Bowling Green. The other two are scheduled to appear before district court.
