Bring out your dead...electronics

On Saturday, November 16, the Vanderburgh County Solid Waste District will hold a drop-off recycling day at Evansville Day School from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The following items will be accepted for recycling at the program:

  • newspaper
  • mixed household paper
  • cardboard           
  • magazines & catalogs
  • aluminum cans       
  • steel cans
  • glass containers
  • #1-#7 plastic containers

*no styrofoam or plastic bags*

The District has contracted with Wesselman Nature Society to operate the drop-off programs. The next recycling day will be held at the 4-H Center on November 23.

C&I Electronics, an Evansville electronics recycling company, will offer electronics recycling free of charge during Electronics Recycling Week at its business located at 1700 N. Lafayette. 

The program will run from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day Monday, November 18 through November 22 and from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 23.

Residents from Vanderburgh County households can bring electronic items to be recycled including:

  • computer monitors
  • televisions
  • computer related equipment and electronics items

Microwaves, copiers and appliances will not be accepted.  Items from businesses will also not be accepted.
