(CNN) – Soul legend Tina Turner has give up her U.S. citizenship, according to an activity report from the U.S. Embassy in Bern, Switzerland.

Turner has lived in Switzerland for nearly 20 years, and in July, she married her long-time boyfriend.

The activity report indicates that she signed a statement waiving her U.S. citizenship last month.

It also indicates that she is fluent in German and doesn’t have any strong ties to the U.S. anymore, except for family members.

She also has no plans to live in the U.S. in the future.

Turner, who retired from concert performances in 2009, took the oath of Swiss nationality in April.
