Hopkins Co. helping teens have a Merry Christmas with PACS program

Posted: Updated:

One Hopkins County organization is making it possible for teens to have a better Christmas, but they need your help.

In it's 60th year, officials with the PACS Hopkins County office are beginning to raise money for their Teen Christmas shopping program.

The office raises $20,000 from local businesses and donations, in order to split that money up and give $100 giftcards to teens ages 13-18.

The teens are from low income families and never have had the opportunity to shop for themselves.

Organizers say for two nights in December, the teens are taken to a local mall and allowed to spend their $100 on clothes for school or church.

"So that makes it all worthwhile when somebody like that is so appreciative of our program. It's Christmas and it fills your heart with joy," says Bobbi Ann Wilcox with the program.

The office has 6 weeks to raise $20,000 and if you would like to help out, click here.

If interested in making a monetary donation to PACS-HCAC, P.O. Box Madisonville, KY, 42431.
