Disabled parking sting planned for Bears game

Posted: Updated:

The state's crackdown on people misusing disability parking placards is headed to Chicago's Soldier Field.

The Illinois Secretary of State Police and Chicago Bears staff will be keeping an eye on the parking lot at Sunday's matchup between the Bears and the Detroit Lions.

It's the latest sting operation in a campaign to stop people who are not disabled from using placards to park in spots reserved for those with disabilities.

Those caught can get a $500 fine and a six-month suspension of their driver's license for a first offense.
