KSP hope video will lead to break in Officer Ellis' murder

BARDSTOWN, KY (WAVE) – Kentucky State Police troopers returned to scene where a Bardstown police officer was murdered to record a video in an effort to find his killer.

In the video, which was posted on YouTube, KSP Lieutenant Jeremy Thompson clenches a photo of Officer Jason Ellis as he talks about Ellis' last moments, his wife and their two children.

Officer Ellis was shot and killed when he got out of his police cruiser to remove debris from the Bluegrass Parkway on his way home from work on May 25.

A reward of more than $185,000 is being offered in Ellis' murder.

KSP encourages the public to submit tips by contacting the KSP Elizabethtown Post at (270) 766-5078 or call the toll free KSP Tip Line at (800) 222-5555. An email address has also been established for tips at EllisCaseETips@ky.gov.
