BOONVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday for the Boonville man who's known by everyone in town for his love of local sports.

Family says Pat Bruner passed away of heart complications late Friday night.

Bruner was a graduate of Boonville High School. Friends, family, and students say he attended the vast majority of Boonville athletics events.

Students and friends of Bruner 14 News spoke with on Tuesday say it's surreal to no longer have him around. They say the school plans to honor Bruner's memory in some way in the near future.

"He had a heart that was absolutely huge. He loved Boonville High School, he loved the athletes, he loved the coaches. They all loved him. This whole community really cared about Pat Bruner, as he did the community," said Ron Rogier, a former Boonville Football coach.

Bruner's funeral will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Bradley's Colonial Funeral Chapel in Boonville.

We'll have much more on Bruner from his friends and family Wednesday on 14 News.
