WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

One northbound lane of Interstate 57 is shut down after two separate wrecks near the 60 mile post.

First, a single car rolled over. There were no injuries in that crash, according to Illinois State Police.

While emergency crews were on the scene of the first crash, a car rear ended another car.

According to Illinois State Police, Brittany P. Eldridge, 22, of Anna, was driving a red 2011 Chevy Cruze north on I-57 near milepost 61 around 9:52 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4 and hit a black 2013 Honda Accord driven by Latoya L. Green-Connet, 39, of Westmont. Police say Green-Connet was in front of Eldridge, driving in the same direction, when she slowed for a previous crash in the median.

Eldridge had serious injuries and was flown to a St. Louis hospital. She was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to wear a seat belt and operating uninsured vehicle.

Green-Connet had minor injuries.

Police say I-57 northbound was closed for a short time.
