Swap your Halloween candy for toys and help out troops

Posted: Updated:

Many kids will be out trick or treating Friday night.

If you get a little more candy than you can eat, you can always swap it in for a toy and a good cause.

Kool Smiles in Evansville is asking kids to bring in their Halloween goodies to be sent to troops overseas.

As a little bit of an incentive, kids can exchange the candy for a their choice of a toy.

This is part of a larger national operation, and this is the second year Evansville is participating.

In 2012, more than one ton of candy was donated to troops by kids nationally.

Eighteen pounds of that came from Evansville kids.

Not only will troops be getting the candy, but Kool Smiles will also donate 100 dental care packages and will also cover the assembly and shipment of 200 care packages.

You can come by today through next Wednesday, November 6th, any time during office hours.

The office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 to 2:00 PM.

Kool Smiles is located at 400 East Diamond Avenue in Evansville.
