Northbound Highway 41 was completely blocked Thursday morning after a semi with a tall load hit the I-64 overpass.
Authorities tell us the semi was originally traveling east on I-64.
They say the driver wanted to take a break so the he got off the interstate and while traveling north on 41, his load (cover for a generator) got stuck on the overpass.
The driver was cited for violating his permit. He was not allowed to stop anywhere in Indiana. He is traveling to New York.
Authorities tell us the load is being impounded because of the violation.
The overpass has been inspected and authorities tell us it is okay.
The Indiana Department of Transportation says the Hwy 41 reopened a little after 1 p.m. Thursday.
