Red Sox win World Series
The Boston Red Sox are World Series champions for the third time in 10 seasons after beating the St. Louis Cardinals 6-1 in Game 6. Shane Victorino opened the scoring with a three-run double in the third and added an RBI single to help the Bosox clinch a World Series at home for the first time since 1918. Stephen Drew hit a solo homer and John Lackey carried a shutout into the seventh before the Red Sox secured their eighth World Series crown.
Clouds and rain will start the day. The storm system to our west is still on track to bring strong to severe storms with damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes on Halloween. Timing for the event will be early afternoon in Southern Illinois, evening (5pm -9pm) over the Tri-State, and then moving out of our area by midnight Thursday. Once the cold front is through, temperatures will fall into the 50's for the weekend. Byron will have the latest information.
Many Tri-State communities are reacting to an ominous forecast by canceling or delaying Trick or Treat events planned for Halloween night. We'll have the complete up to date schedule on Sunrise, courtesy Nicole and Emily. If you can't wait for the show, click here.
You'll also have a chance to meet spirits living aboard LST 325 today. We'll let you know when you can check it out.
So enjoy your Halloween and BE ALERT for possible severe weather later today. See you on Sunrise.
