Evansville, Vand Co leaders recommend postponing Halloween events

Posted: Updated:

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and Vanderburgh County Commission President Marsha Abell recommend postponing Halloween activities due to the slight risk for severe weather and the potential for torrential rainfall tomorrow afternoon and evening.

The Mayor and Commissioner Abell encourage the public, especially parents of young children, to delay trick-or-treating until Friday.

The City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County do not officially recognize Halloween as a holiday and do not host or sponsor Halloween events; however, city and county officials urge the public follow common Halloween safety tips.
