The group spent time at three local schools Monday morning before meeting with Mayor Winnecke.
Through a translator, the delegation brought up topics like green space and parks, as well as education.
In the past, the Evansville Rotary tells 14 News that it has donated two ambulances and medical equipment to its fellow club in Tizimin.
As far as strengthening ties and building partnerships, one idea brought up by the delegation was having students in Evansville talk with students in Tizimin over Skype.
Another idea was to have medical students here, go to Tizimin to get hands-on experience while helping people there who don't have proper healthcare.
"They seemed very intrigued about potential partnerships between our two cities that could really help them in terms of bringing medical education to their area, and also helping the students that will be going through the medical education program here by giving them access different types of environments that they may not see in the region," Mayor Winnecke said.
The delegation will be part of a district to district celebration on Monday night. On Tuesday, the group will attend a Rotary luncheon and tour the Toyota plant in Gibson County.
