Red Sox even World Series
Jonny Gomes belted a tie breaking, three-run homer in the sixth inning to give the Boston Red Sox a 4-2 win over the Cardinals in St. Louis, tying the World Series at two games apiece. Gomes was inserted into the starting lineup once outfielder Shane Victorino was scratched due to lower back tightness. The Red Sox's bullpen came through with five innings of strong relief, including a pick-off to end the game, and limiting the Cardinals to one run and three hits.
Funding for Roberts Park will be cut from the city budget. A city official confirmed the city council will cut the initial funding for Roberts Park tonight when the council votes on the city's budget for next year. The story on Sunrise.
Warmer, and sunny, but..
High pressure will keep skies mostly sunny on today, but a weak system to our south will spread some clouds our way and rain chances will hold off until Tuesday when we'll see some scattered showers. That'll be the case on Wednesday as well, with a strong cold front poised to move in on Halloween. Byron is back with the details.
