Evansville City Council plans to vote on the city's budget for next year on Monday, and a council official tells 14 News they will cut initial funding for the Roberts Park project.
The official tells 14 News that city council leaders met with the mayor's office.
The cut in funding will obviously mean money wouldn't be available to start the project.
A representative from the Mayor's office says they will continue to work on finalizing plans for the park. They hope to convince the council to approve funding either later this year, or next year.
14 News will be at the meeting on Monday night.
We will have the latest on air and online.
