Help the Fire Department find some missing equipment

The Evansville Fire Department is searching for some equipment they say was "rescued" by a good Samaritan, and they're hoping they can now get it back.

Around 6:30 a.m., the Fire Department was on an emergency run near 1505 N. Third Ave.

They say an equipment door flew open and several items were thrown into the street near Lewis Bakeries at 500 N. Fulton and picked up by a Good Samaritan driving an extended cab Ford Ranger.

The Fire Department says "thanks [to] the 'Good Samaritan' who turned on their flashers, picked up the items and diverting possible harm to motorists. This was quick thinking and much appreciated."

They now hope they can get the equipment back.

The items were a fire coat with the name "Hess" on the back, a large hand held rotating saw (K-12 saw), and a reciprocating saw (Sawzall).
