The Arkansas State women's golf team concluded play in the Blue Raider Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 22, completing the two-day tournament at the Old Fort Golf Club with a combined 922 to place it 10th among 15 teams.

The Red Wolves posted an opening-round 315 followed by a 299, its best score of the tournament, for the following 18 holes on Monday.  A-State shot a 308 for the final round, pushing its total to 922 that left it five strokes behind ninth-place Tennessee Tech.  Arkansas State finished ahead of Sun Belt Conference foe UALR, Belmont, UMKC, UTEP and Austin Peay State.

The Red Wolves were led by freshman Maci Arrington and junior Megan Garland, who both finished tied for 25th place with a 229.  Arrington was responsible for the lowest round of the tournament by an A-State player with a 72 recorded for the second 18 holes.  Garland has now posted a top-25 finish in all four tournaments played by the Red Wolves, while Arrington ended play among the top 25 individuals for the second straight outing.

Also competing for A-State, Marie Couffignal finished tied for 31st with a 230, Abi Laker tied for 49th with a 236 and Courtney Manning tied for 59th with a 239.  Competing as an individual, Endsley Evans placed 83rd after recording a 262.

Southern Illinois claimed the team title by shooting an 897, while host-school Middle Tennessee finished runner-up with an 898 and Lamar third with a 902.  The Blue Raider Invitational wrapped up the fall portion of A-State's 2013-14 schedule, which included three top-four finishes by the Red Wolves.
