Evansville police will be going door to door in a target neighborhood to combat violent crime.

On Wednesday, Chief Billy Bolin posted on EPD's Facebook page that officers will be going door to door talking to people directly impacted by the violence on the southeast side.

Bolin says officers will be sharing ways you can talk to the department.

A federal grant is paying for the additional manpower costs of the neighborhood outreach.

U.S. Attorney Joseph Hogsett is holding a press conference on Thursday to address law enforcement efforts in the Evansville area.
