Two brothers in Ohio County were arrested and charged with assaulting a state trooper.

Kentucky State Police say they responded to an accident on Highway 85, near Centertown, around 6:45 on Saturday night.

Troopers say they believed Jeff Bishop was driving under the influence of alcohol. When they started performing the field tests, they say Bishop became combative and started assaulting the troopers.

While the troopers were trying to get Bishop under control, State police say his brother, Joseph Bishop, arrived on scene and also began assaulting a trooper.

Both were finally taken into custody and taken to the Ohio County Jail.

Jeff Bishop is facing charges of assault, assault-police officer, resisting arrest, DUI, possession of open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, and criminal mischief.

Joseph Bishop is facing charges of assault and resisting arrest.
