The Henderson Chamber of Commerce and Northwest Kentucky Forward are planning to become one after talks of a merger began in 2012.
Both boards say the merger would unify their goals and make the groups more efficient.
Organizers looked at the other communities to see their success.
Brad Schneider, who heads both groups, said the merger would be good for the region.
"All of our issues tend to be regional, you know the things that are important to all of us affect us all at seemingly equally so there is no reason to try and do it separately, why not team up," said Schneider.
The new organization will cover Henderson, Union, Webster and McLean counties.
On November 1, a presentation will be given to both boards.
If the merger is approved, they will be open for business on January 1.
