Woman trapped after car gets stuck in tree

Around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Manitou Fire Department responded to report of a car accident on Manitou road in northern Hopkins County.

Kentucky State Police say 85-year-old Ludie Milum, of Madisonville, KY, was driving southbound on KY 630 (Manitou Road) when her vehicle exited the right side of the roadway.

The vehicle traveled with the passenger side off the roadway for about 185 feet before striking a small driveway which caused the vehicle to exit the roadway and drop down to the grass which was several feet lower than the roadway.  The vehicle traveled around 176 feet off the roadway before coming to a driveway at road level.  The vehicle struck this driveway which acted as a ramp causing the vehicle to become airborne for about 86 feet.  The vehicle struck front first into the ground causing it to rotate end over end.  As it rotated, the back end struck the ground and the front struck a tree.  The vehicle came to rest against the tree with the front in the air.

It took about 45 for rescue crews to free Milum from the vehicle.

She was transported by ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment.  She was later transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville. KSP says she is in critical condition.

She was wearing a seatbelt and there were no passengers involved.

After 147 years, a historic Henderson church is coming down, piece by piece. Now, there's a lot of treasures left inside that are going to be up for sale. "There's holes in the roof and the whole building has become dilapidated," says Drew Knight, Ole Bigwood, LLC, "and the structure is no longer sound."   The church was built in 1870 and closed in 2010, when it was the Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church. "Every piece of it will come down and eradicated a...
