An Evansville man has entered an Alford plea in the death of his girlfriend.
According to the Henderson County Commonwealth's Attorney, Demetrius Compton will serve 11 years in prison.
He'll have to serve 85% of his sentence before he's eligible for parole.
Compton was arrested in June 2011 and charged with the death of Brystal Chambers. Her death was ruled a homicide by strangulation.
Compton will be sentenced November 12.
