14 Hours for MDA

14 news, along with Mike Blake and local business and community leaders, will be raising money today for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. From 6am until eight tonight, you'll see many familiar faces with Mike on the air throughout the day, similar to the Labor Day telethon of years past. Donations will be accepted through this website: www2.mda.org/14formda  Mike will be on Sunrise to talk more about this big day.

City council consultant concerns

More controversy at the Evansville City Council meeting Monday surrounding a consultant they hired. 14 News obtained a document written by that consultant that some say could jeopardize the city's financial future. This is not the first time consultant, David Garrett, has come under fire. One city official tells 14 News that his office found mistakes on every page of Garrett's 12 page report, a report that's now in the hands of state officials.

Deal in the works?

Congressional aides are predicting an elusive deal between Senate leaders to avoid a U.S. default and reopen government could emerge as early as today but the reaction of House Republicans remains to be seen. House conservatives are grumbling about the general framework that's trickled out so far but it's not clear what they might do.

I-69 update

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear will visit Madisonville today to speak at an I-69 development conference. Emily Busby is live with the details.

EVV going greener

The city of Evansville wants to get greener and needs your help to do it. Nicole is live with the story.

A real taste of Fall

Rain, cooler weather, and a cold front are on the way today. Clouds this morning with rain developing this afternoon and tonight.   Severe weather is unlikely with the passage of the cold front. Much colder air works in behind the system with highs barely reaching 60 degrees by Thursday. Byron has the 14 First Alert forecast.

So, enjoy your Tuesday, and we'll see you on Sunrise.
