Beaver Dam officials share plans for $1 million amphitheatre

Beaver Dam City officials are making progress on a project they hope will bring thousands of people from across Western Kentucky to their downtown. 

The City of Beaver Dam has plans to build a $1 million amphitheatre at Beaver Dam Park.

Bowling Green architects Clements and Associates came up with a concept for the 4,000 seat theatre.

Beaver Dam Mayor Paul Sandefur says he would like to have live music and events at the venue a couple times a month and draw in hundreds of people from across the Tri-State. 

"We talk about a lot of people look at this as Beaver Dam is a small town and we're doing something like this. Our motto has gotten to the point where we want to be the town that everybody thinks that they do stuff that you don't normally do at a small town. That's what we want you to think when you think Beaver Dam," Sandefur said. 

The project will be paid for by restaurant tax and a construction date has not been set.
