The Henderson County Coroner's Office has released the name of the victim of an early Sunday morning drowning in the Ohio River.

Henderson County Dispatch received a call around 5:00 Sunday morning of a man who went underwater near Newburgh Beach, which is off of Ohio River No. 2 Rd. in Henderson County.

The coroner's office say divers and search teams found the body of 27-year-old Yoshua Phillips, of Owensboro, around 10:00 a.m.

Search dogs were also used to search the banks. Divers also used side scan sonar, which was how they found the body.

Henderson Water Rescue, first responders, Newburgh Police, and the Kentucky Coast Guard all assisted in the rescue effort.

Authorities say Phillips was with a group of friends before he went under and no foul play is suspected.

The coroner's office says Phillips' was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the medical examiners office in Madisonville where an autopsy will be performed on Monday.

Officials say they urge people to always wear a life jacket when they are in or around the water, especially when it is dark.
