No injuries in Ultralight crash near French Lick

FRENCH LICK, IN (WAVE) – There were no injuries resulting from the crash of an ultralight near the French Lick Municipal Airport.

According to the Department of Natural Resources, the ultra-light aircraft crashed just south of the French Lick Airport at 5:09 p.m. Friday and landed in a tree.

James Cutler, 65, of Winslow, IN, is a licensed pilot and was operating the aircraft. Richard Yahraus, 59, Corydon, IN, was a passenger. Both men were lowered to the ground safely by a bucket truck supplied by Orange County REMC.

The crash is still under investigation by the Orange County Sheriff's Department and the FAA.
