VINCENNES, IN (WFIE) -

A woman has been arrested in connection with a child homicide that took place in Vincennes in 2009.

The Vincennes City Police Detective Division have arrested 29-year-old Krista A. Brown, formerly of Vincennes and Lawrence County, Illinois, who is accused of battery resulting in death of her then 17-month-old son, Daniel Scott Brown II.

On May 6, 2009, police, fire, and EMS units responded to 32 Autumn Ridge Lane in Vincennes for an unresponsive child who could not be revived.

Authorities say a subsequent medical and criminal investigation began which revealed the death was a homicide.

On Wednesday, a probable cause hearing took place in Knox Superior Court I and an arrest warrant was issued for Brown.

Around 1:30 on Friday afternoon, the Columbus, Ohio Police Department SWAT Team served a felony warrant at 585 Dexter Avenue at the request of VPD Detectives.

Brown was arrested on a Knox County Warrant, charging her with Battery Causing Death of a Victim less than 14 Years of Age, which is a Class A Felony.

Brown is being held at the Franklin County, Ohio jail pending extradition back to Knox County where she will be held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

The Vincennes Police Department was assisted by the Indiana State Police, Knox County division of the Indiana Department of Child Services, Knox County Prosecutor's Office, Knox County Coroner's Office, and the Columbus, Ohio Police Department.
