JASPER, IN (WFIE) -

A Jasper woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after she narrowly avoided a wreck with a Dubois County deputy on Thursday.

Authorities say 23-year-old Audrey Fleck turned west on to Sixth Street in Jasper when she nearly had a head on collision with an oncoming car, and then narrowly missed a deputy's cruiser.

The sheriff's office says the deputy stopped Fleck and noticed a strong smell of alcohol.

After a field sobriety test, Fleck was arrested and taken to the Jasper Police Department.

Officials say she had a blood alcohol level of .14

She was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
