A multi-agency sting took down an accused drug trafficker at a Western Kentucky Parkway rest stop on Tuesday.

Authorities arrested 23-year-old Leon Mayes. Sheriff's deputies and Louisville Metro Police detectives say they've been investigating complaints about large amounts of crystal meth and heroin coming in from Louisville.

They acted on tips and were waiting for Mayes on Tuesday at a rest stop area on the Western Kentucky Parkway in Beaver Dam. Deputies say Mayes thought he was there to meet with a buyer for the drugs.

Authorities say they found eight pounds of crystal meth and more than a pound of heroin.

Mayes is lodged at the Ohio County Detention Center and facing a long list of drug charges.
