The closure will take place at the intersection of East Second and Allen Street.
It's part of Owensboro's downtown infrastructure which is phase three of the project. They will be laying down asphalt and repaving the sidewalks.
Another detour will be put into place which may cause an inconvenience for shoppers and businesses owners.
We're told sidewalks and businesses will remain open.
14 News spoke with an employee that works at a store on the corner of that intersection who says that he doesn't think the closing will be that much of an inconvenience.
"It's beautiful just to walk around downtown. You may have to walk an extra block or two, but that is what the city is going to, bigger and better," said Ben Roberts, a Famous Bistro employee.
The intersection will be closed for a minimum of 30 days, but hopefully it wont cause too much inconvenience.
