CARMI, IL (WFIE) -

The White County Sheriff's Department has made an arrest in the case of a theft from Mill Shoals Township.

40-year-old Shannon L. Woodrow of Springerton IL. was taken into custody after a several month long investigation.

Officials say they discovered that a $537.50 payment made to Wayne White Electric, purported to have been made payable by Mill Shoals Township was not authorized by the township.

They also say that more than $500.00 was taken from Mill Shoals Township for the purpose of being "bonded."

The "bonding' never happened, therefore depriving the township of property.

Woodrow is being held in the White County Jail on $2500.00 cash bond.
